Bigg Boss 16: Singer Sona Mohapatra has joined the countless people who disapproved of director Sajid Khan’s participation in Bigg Boss 16 as a participant. She described Indian TV networks as “a depraved and sad lot.” During the Saturday night premiere, Sajid entered the home as a contestant. In the wake of the numerous sexual assault allegations brought against him by numerous businesswomen during the MeToo movement, many criticised the channel and the show for giving him such a chance.
Late on Sunday night, Sona responded to a news anchor’s post on Twitter regarding the multiple sexual assault claims made against Sajid Khan in recent years. She wrote: “This is #SajidKhan, now on a reality TV show. Then there is #AnuMalik judging a music reality show on TV, for children no less. #KailashKher? Celebrity Judge on TV. ALL called out by many many women in @IndiaMeToo. Indian TV channels, executives are indeed depraved and sad lot.”
Continuing further, she said “& of course the series sleaze #VikasBehl & master of disgusting #SuhelSeth, all back on Indian TV… thought that calms me (?) that it’s a dying medium & some dying will thrash around doing the worst to save themselves, even if it means dragging other humans under; women. @IndiaMeToo.”
Sajid is accused of sexual assault for allegedly watching porn in front of women, flashing his privates at parties, requesting nude photos from female actors during the casting process, and more.
Sajid Khan revealed he is out of work since four years
On Saturday at the Bigg Boss 16 premiere, Sajid discussed how the charges affected his career. He told host Salman Khan, “I did not have much work, have been at home for past four years. So, when the Colors team called me up, I decided I should come here and maybe learn something about myself.” He added, “I have seen many ups and downs in my life and been very low in past four years.”
