American Idol: Willie Spence, the 23-year-old singer, runner up of American Idol last year, lost his life after he sustained injuries as his car collided with the back of a tractor-trailer. Willie’s death shocked his friends and fans alike. The accident occurred on a road in Tennessee in the US. Spence, who was from Georgia, finished second to Chayce Beckham on season 19 of American Idol last year.

Both Spence and the driver of the tractor-trailer, who is 68 years old, were wearing seat belts, according to the report.
The singing competition show released a statement saying Spence “was a true talent who lit up every room he entered”.

Chayce Beckham, the winner of Season 19 of American Idol, also posted his message on Instagram. “He had a laugh that could make you melt, an honest humor you couldn’t help but love, and the biggest heart you could imagine all wrapped up into one human”.
Katharine McPhee, a former contestant on Season 5 of American Idol, who had also previously performed with Spence, also took to Instagram to express her grief over Spence’s death.
