Kollywood superstar Dhanush starrer Tamil horror thriller film Naane Varuvean has been released on big screens. Directed by Selvaraghavan of “Nenjam Marappathillai” fame, Naane Varuvean is written by actor Dhanush himself.
In this film, Dhanush appeared in a dual role for the third time after Kodi and Pattas, and it is the second collaboration between the lead actor and Selvaraghavan after the 2011 Tamil psychological drama Mayakkam Enna.

Along with Dhanush, who played Prabhu and Kathir, the film also stars lead actresses Indhuja Ravichandran as Prabhu’s wife Bhuvana and Elli AvrRam as Kathir’s wife Madhuri.
Other than these stars Naane Varuvean also featured Hiya Davey, Prabhu Ganesan, Yogi Babu, Aajeedh Khalique, Shelly Kishore, Saravana Subbiah, Frankinsten, and Sylvensten. Director Selvaraghavan also had a cameo appearance in the film as a serial killer.

The film was released worldwide in theatres on September 29, 2022, and day before superstar Vikram’s much-hyped Ponniyin Selvan: I, which has broken many records at the box office and became the highest-grossing Tamil film 2022.
Produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu, Naane Varuvean is soon to have post-theatrical released. Amazon Prime Video bagged the digital rights of the film whereas the satellite rights are sold to Sun TV. The film is to premiere on the platform sooner than expected, 27 Oct 2022:

Naane Varuvean Reviews
The film opened to mixed response in theatres and with a short run-time as well as a clean screenplay, its exploration of a psychopath is intriguing. The story of the film revolves around an average suburban man whose life s upside down when his daughter Satya is possessed by the ghost of a little boy.
It had a decent opening but was overshadowed by the most awaited PS:1. However, despite clashing with the Vikram starrer, the film managed to collect over Rs. 30 crores, after four days of its release.
