Prateik Babbar gets emotional; says, he’s ‘Paying tribute to his mother Smita Patil through India Lockdown’ | Hindi Movie News

Bollywood actor Prateik Babbar is currently gearing up for his next film ‘India Lockdown’. The film, helmed by Madhur Bhandarkar revolves around the traumatic experiences that transpired during the covid-19 pandemic. In the film, Prateik will be seen essaying the role of a migrant worker.

In the trailer of the film, Prateik’s character can be seen disturbed as the debts continue to rise, as his wife too looses her job and their kids start struggling too because of hunger. Speaking about the same to Indian Express, Prateik shared that in order to get into the skin of the role and feel their pain, he did meet some migrant workers and spent time observing their body language. He added that he also spoke to them about their hardship and Madhur Bhandarkar too gave him some reference films to watch.

For the preparation, Prateik also revealed that, he watched some of his mother’s films as she portrayed such characters during her time. On a closing note, he shared that it was a beautiful process, and through this film he’s also paying tribute to his mother, late actor Smita Patil.
