Secunderabad Cantonment Board resident shells out Rs 3,000 for littering as new rules kick in | Hyderabad News

SECUNDERABAD: The Secunderabad Cantonment Board has begun imposing heavy penalties as per new solid waste management by-laws. The revised penalties were approved by the SCB in its Board meeting held last month. For the first time, a penalty of 3,000 was imposed on a resident of Jyothi Colony in SCB Ward-V for dumping tree branches (garden waste) on the pavement.
Officials of the SCB health and sanitation wing said the penalty had been imposed for creating nuisance by throwing green waste in a public place. tnn
